I already have my tickets for the November 7 OUA Semi-final game at Alumni Stadium. I bought them online yesterday via Gryphon Box office. The fact that they are available now and actually went on sale 12 or 13 days before the game would seem to be a positive change.
I recall last season, in an unusual move, the OUA did not allow tickets for the Yates Cup to go on sale online until just three days before the game. Unfortunately I think that move played a part in the game not being sold out. With many people expecting a sellout but not able to by tickets until the Wednesday before the game I talked to many who were not making plans to attend just because of the uncertainty involved.
Allowing people to buy tickets and make plans in advance is a good thing. I know for a fact that the Parents of Players and the Friends of Gryphon Football people are already making plans for their pre-game tailgate parties. [I’ll share details in the near future.] It should be a fun day!
While the Gryphons opponent has not been determined it will be one of McMaster, Queen’s or Carleton. The Mac Marauders being the most likely adversary. For more on this week’s OUA Quarter-final games – Quest for the 108th Yates Cup continues with quarterfinals.
The Gryphons will be putting their 19-game home winning streak on the line as they seek to return to the Yates Cup for the second year in a row and the third time in four years. You can’t win it if you’re not in it. #Go Beyond
