Austin Gonsalves has played six years of OVFL football in the Markham Raiders organization. Most of that time he was a star running back for the Raiders. In the 2013 season he racked up over 1,000 all purpose yards in just six games on his way to being named the Raiders’ Offensive MVP. You’ll see from his 2013 OVFL highlights he is superb athlete who is elusive and possesses good speed. He was a good receiver out of the backfield and a big-time returner on specials. Gonsalves was named to the 2013 OVFL All Star team as a running back. Gonsalves continued to make big plays for the Raiders in 2014 but primarily as a receiver and returner.
Gonsalves also played for the Team Ontario Selects U17 squad in the 2013 International Bowl in Texas. Gonsalves and his Team O teammates defeated Team USA. The coach of that team? Guelph’s Bill Brown. Last year Gonsalves played in the 2014 OVFL Top Prospects game. He has also been selected as a captain of both his OVFL and high school teams. His 2014 Colts team won the York Region title and played in an OFSAA bowl.

Like Gonsalves, Elijah Walker was a star running back for much of his career. That includes his first 3 or 4 seasons with the OVFL’s Brampton Bulldogs. Walker is a two-time OVFL All Star for the Bulldogs – Special Teams in 2013 & a defensive back in 2014. While Walker started off as a RB it was during his first of three years with Team Ontario that Coach Bill Brown recognized his potential as a DB and he started the move to defense. This past year as a DB Walker was a team captain for Team O when they won a gold medal in Saskatoon. As a result of his play in Saskatoon Walker was named to Team Canada’s U18 squad and played in last month’s International Bowl in Texas.
Walker was also a captain for Bill Crothers and the team’s MVP. The Colts won the York Region and played in an OFSAA Bowl in 2014. Able to run a sub-4.5 second 40 Walker has the speed to make big plays including QB sacks and big returns. Walker was a York Region All Star selection and the YRAA League’s MVP. Walker is ranked as one of the top 10 DB prospects in Canada and #57 overall prospect according to Canada Football Chat.
