Biographical info: 6’3″ 280 – Nelson HS [Burlington ON] & Burlington Stampeders of the OFC

Position: Offensive lineman – Played O-Line and D-Line at Nelson but he’ll be an interior offensive lineman at Guelph, most likely a guard.

OL Rec Duncan CurrenAccomplishments: Played on the Team Ontario squad that won a bronze medal at the Football Canada Cup in 2013 … played for Golden Horseshoe All Star teams at both the Current Stars and Rising Stars levels … played for the Nelson Lords in the tough Halton Tier 1 league … Curren was captain for Nelson in 2013 … won Lineman of the Year in JV with the Burlington Stampeders.

My Take: If you’ve read many of my recruit profiles you know I like recruits who have played on well-coached teams that have faced quality competition. Curren meets those criteria. He will add much-needed depth to an offensive line that loses 4 veterans. Curren  had a chance to play against the Montreal Carabins this past week. While I think he will push some veterans, I expect he will have a chance to redshirt in 2014 and compete for playing time in 2015.
