OL recruit Nick Thun #67

Biographical info: 6′ 270 – Corpus Christi [Burlington ON] & Burlington Stampeders of the OFC

Position: Offensive lineman – interior OL position, plays both Centre and Guard in his video highlights. Also has experience as a long snapper including with Team Ontario.

Recruit Nick ThunAccomplishments: Won a Bronze medal at the Football Canada Cup with Team Ontario West 2012. Was named a team captain on that squad … went to Texas to play for Team Ontario Selects in the 2013 International Bowl series … was a 2013 GHR All Star who played against the GTA All Stars … played for GHR Future Stars vs the GTA in 2012 … with the CC Longhorns Thun has excelled in one of Ontario’s most competitive leagues – Halton Tier 1. CC reached the Halton Finals the past 2 years.

My Take: A little bit undersized at this point but Thun was no afterthought. He was one of the first OLs to commit. Thun has played at a high level in Halton, with the Stamps and Team O. You know that players coming from Burlington will have been well coached with solid fundamentals and techniques. I see that in Thun’s highlights. He has a low centre of gravity, gets his hands inside on his opponents, maintains his blocks and plays to the whistle. I don’t why he never made a GIF of his pancake block of a Team USA DT at the 48 sec mark of his highlights 😉 .
