Johnson #27 locked on to Team USA receiver
Team Ontario Select vs Team USA, Austin TX

Biographical Details:  5’9″ 175lbs – St Marguerite d’Youville [Brampton, ON] & OVFL Brampton Bulldogs

Position:  DB – expect him to compete for a position at cornerback as a freshman. He put up huge rushing and scoring numbers as a RB for ROPSSAA champs d’Youville but everyone projects him as a DB.

Honours:  too many to list. To name just a few – OVFL All Star DB in 2012; Two-time starter for Team Ontario West – Game Def. MVP in 2011 & Tournament Def. MVP in 2012; starter for Team Ontario Selects vs USA in Austin TX; Ontario Scholar.

My Take:   All the top CIS schools recruited Johnson. He is one of the marquee names of  the 2013 recruiting class. He is physically strong and has “speed to burn” having recorded a 4.39 sec 40. McMaster pushed very hard for him but ultimately I’m led to believe that it came down to a choice between Guelph and Western. The Gryphons missed out on Jadon’s older brother Kalvin in a similar recruiting battle two years ago. Kalvin is now a starter for the Mustangs.
