Defensive Line Coach Brian Cluff along with five of his DLs [Jordan Thompson, Patrick Gerrie, Blake McNeely, Ryan Searle and Cam Walker] took in a practice at the Toronto Argonauts training camp this week. They were there not only to observe a CFL practice but to support teammate Jake Reinhart. They also had a chance to meet with two other former Gryphons – Argos’ ST Coordinator Mike O’Shea and Player Personnel Asst Chris Rossetti. This wouldn’t have been Coach Cluff’s first visit to an Argonaut training camp as he is a former draft pick of the Boatmen.

Three Lions departed camp today, including … offensive lineman Cameron Thorn (returning home to recover from a concussion suffered in rookie camp) and Jordan Yantz (returning to Vancouver Island to prepare for his first season with the University of Manitoba Bison).

This week – Thursday @ 7pm – will give Canadian football fans their first look at the expanded Alumni Stadium in a game situation as the Tiger-Cats will take on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in an exhibition match. It will be the only opportunity to see, to a limited extent, how the stadium (seating, concessions, washrooms, etc.), parking, traffic and security plans work out before what I expect will be a sold-out home opener on Sunday, July 7 vs the Edmonton Eskimos.
A quick check of ticket availability on the Ticats’ ticket website reveals that even for this exhibition game … ” NOT MANY LEFT”.
