Dillon Dimitroff’s highlights

Dillon Dimitroff has a well-deserved reputation for catching everything thrown to him. But I have always loved what he does without the ball. His route running and blocking are superb. Dimitroff’s 2012 receiving numbers – 29 receptions, 330 yards – were enough to lead the Gryphons but it was because of his all-round performance, not these numbers, that OUA coaches selected him a 2nd team OUA Allstar. Among Dimitroff’s biggest plays of the year was his open-field, special-teams tackle of Queen’s returner Giovanni Aprile [not shown]. Guelph doesn’t come back to win that game without that play. Other favourite plays of mine: his spinning, tackle-breaking TD run vs UofT [2:30] and his crushing hit on UofS Safety Bryce McCall [0:21].
