Players of the Game
Offense – Jazz Lindsey
Defense – Zach Androschuk
Specials – Cam Walker
In Sunday’s post I wrote, A great passing performance from Jazz Lindsey – 24 of 28 for 264 yards and 2 touchdowns with zero interceptions; that is an 86% completion rate. Impressive! Clearly his best game so far in 2012. UofT did some things to slow down our running game and to limit Jazz’s scrambling. He responded in a big way. When the defense needed a big play Androschuk came up with a big play. Or at least it should have been a big play. His beautiful and clean interception was negated by a phantom penalty call. But he was credited with a solo tackle and two assists. From his safety position he directed a defensive backfield that was missing two veteran starters, yet limited UofT to 160 passing yards. Walker was out there hustling on every play. As wedge breaker on kickoffs he handles one of the toughest assignments in Special Teams work. He recorded 4 solo tackles and 2 assists.

I really wanted to cover some other details from the game But have had some other distractions that have limited my writing time. What I would recommend as the best way to get insights into what was really happening on the field Saturday is to attend the QB Luncheon on Wednesday at the Cutten Club.
This Luncheon is open to all members of the Guelph Community.
The objective of the luncheon is to promote Gryphon Football, profile the current team and players, support local recruiting, and provide an opportunity to connect the Gryphon Football Program with the Community.
* Address from Head Football Coach, Stu Lang
* Video presentation from Gryphon Football Coaches
* Q&A with “Gryphon Players”
Time: 11:45 am to 1:00pm
Cost: $12 Buffet Lunch – Pay at Door
