I was mistaken the other day when I said that John Rush and A’dre Fraser were the fourth and fifth Gryphons to play for Team Canada. Turns out they are the sixth and seventh.
Coach Bill Brown reminded me that Adam Dunk and James Savoie had also played for Team Canada. Prior to Canada participating in the IFAF World Championships, Football Canada had sent a National Junior Team to a tournament held annually in conjunction with the Super Bowl. Dunk and Savoie were teammates in 2005 when Team Canada defeated the Americans in Detroit, MI. A year later Savoie repeated as a champion when Canada again defeated the U.S. squad in Miami, FL.
