The University of Saskatchewan Huskies will host their fifth consecutive non-conference game against the Guelph Gryphons on August 24th. This will also be their fourth national non-conference game.
The Gryphons are and up and coming team in the OUA, last year finishing with a 2-6 record with a young team. This year, they expect to make the playoffs. Huskies Head Coach Brian Towriss feels that Guelph is in the same situation this year that the Windsor Lancers were in last season when they played the Huskies to kick off the season.
“The Gryphons are ready to move up in the standings,” said Huskies Head Coach Brian Towriss. “We saw Windsor, last season, use the non-conference game to improve their team to a 5-3 record and their first playoff appearance in a number of years. Guelph looks to be ready to make that same move this year.”
